Entry 14: Beta Test Results

The game is now 95% completed. The testers are lecturer and TOA students. The game is now tweaked from the Alpha Tests.

The testing has been done in a progressive way. The game was tested after the previous feedback is given from the Beta Testings.

Currently, there's 6 responses. Here's are the results:

The one low rated was due to the game difficulty. Therefore, I've tweaked the controls by increase the sensitivity of the Leap Motion and tweaking the difficulty of the levels

The sensor mapping issue is due to the lack of sensitivity of the Leap Motion. It has been tweaked to even more sensitive by 4 times. The car alignment is due to the 3D model of the car.

The oldest tester is from Ron while the rest are from classmates and TOA students.

60% of the testers are able to distinguish the aesthetic.

Overall the music is good.

The difficulty is based on how sensitive the Leap Motion control the car in the game. Before it was sensitive, the gameplay is really difficult and very limited. After the feedback, I've stepped up the sensitivity to 4 times. Controlling with Leap Motion is now much more easier but still confusing when using it.

Most of the tester stuck at Level 2. Level 2 is intentionally to be really hard but I'd tone down the difficulty by 20%. It's now HARD instead of IMPOSSIBLE. To be honest, before the difficulty was tweaked, it's really hard even for myself as a developer of this game.

Most of them choose "yes" because in Level 1, you need to survive around 130 sec while in Level 2 even longer. The "duration to survive" has tone down to 30 sec for Level 1 and 60 sec for Level 2. One of the tester pick "just right" after that tweaking.

The difficulty was tweaked which resolve the "boring" and "little too hard". For the purple feedback, I've added animation on respawn instead of explosion. For further development of the game, purple's feedback will be in the list of improvement.

Before the Leap Motion sensitivity was tweaked, some testers stuck at Level 1. Most of them stuck at Level 2 but some of them managed to complete it.

The rate 5 is due to the previous version where the obstacles are almost impossible to past. After the tweaking, Level 2 is now easier.

Thanks to the post-processing asset from Unity. It does made the game looks really good visually.

The Leap Motion sensitivity tweak has resolve most of the control and difficulty feedback. 3D model is not resolve yet. The "keep repeating the same obstacle" is due to many retries on Level 2.

This feedback is needed to understand the testers' background and how familiar to the game mechanics.

Tutorial is resolved. Indicator is also resolved. Music will stay what it is. Wall is not defined yet. The Level 1's layout is not so cramped now.

"arm tired" is due to Leap Motion interaction. That one is harder to find a solution for it.
